Definition of Financial Need
Cost of Attendance (determined by each college)
-Expected Family Contribution (determined by FAFSA, reviewed by each college)
=Demonstrated Financial Need (each college will determine the portion of need to meet based on number of applicants and available funds)
All colleges use the above definition of need when considering a student's eligibility for financial assistance based on need. Awards not based on need, such as academic scholarships, reduce eligibility for awards based on need.
