R-MC Center for the Performing Arts
Randolph-Macon College's Blackwell Auditorium in the R-MC Center for the Performing Arts served as the backdrop for a standing-room-only debate between R-MC Professors Dave Brat and Jack Trammell, colleagues and principal candidates for the Virginia 7th district Congressional seat.
R-MC President Robert R. Lindgren and Heather Sullivan, news anchor at NBC-12/WWBT co-moderated the debate, asking the candidates questions previously submitted by the community, ranging from healthcare and immigration to foreign policy and the economy.
Immediately following the event, a post-debate Town Hall was held in the Lindgren Pavilion in Birdsong Hall for the community. R-MC political science professors Richard Meagher and Elliott Fullmer along with guest moderator Juan Conde, WRIC-TV-8 anchor facilitated a healthy discussion about the debate. This event was sponsored by the R -MC Young Democrats, Young Republicans and the Political Science Student Association.

Due to the high level of interest in the debate, all tickets have been reserved and are no longer available.
For those interested in watching the debate, it will be streamed live at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28 on www.rmc.edu and NBC-12.
The audience in Blackwell Auditorium will observe the debate without participation. Audience members will be asked to refrain from applauding or making noise during the debate, and may not do anything visible or audible to express support or opposition for any candidate during the debate No campaign materials, literature, hats, stickers, signs or banners will be allowed in the auditorium. Violations will result in dismissal from the debate venue.

All media will be required to sign in at the R-MC Welcome Center where they will be given press and parking credentials. Logistics including truck parking, press seating, and broadcast information will be provided to registered press who are covering the event.

Immediately following the live debate between Virginia's 7th District Congressional Candidates, David Brat and Jack Trammell on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, a panel discussion sponsored by the R-MC Young Democrats, Young Republicans and the Political Science Students Association will occur. The discussion will be led by R-MC Political Science Faculty with Guest Moderator Juan Conde, anchor with WRIC-TV8. The Post Debate Town Hall will be in Bindsong Hall - Lindgren Pavilion. Refreshments will be served.

Randolph-Macon College announces that R-MC President Robert R. Lindgren and Heather Sullivan, news anchor at NBC12 WWBT, will be the co-moderators for the October 28, 2014 debate between the principal candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives District 7 election. The candidates meeting the eligibility requirements to participate in the debate are Randolph-Macon College faculty members David Brat and Jack Trammell.
The college has also selected NBC12 WWBT to serve as media sponsor for the event, which will be live-streamed on NBC12.com.
