For students interested in a career in law, the pre-law program provides advice and guidance.
Pre-Law
If you're thinking about a career in law, it's smart to start planning ahead. Fortunately, the rigorous liberal arts curriculum at Randolph-Macon College provides an excellent preparation for law school admissions and a strong foundation for both the study and practice of law. And R-MC's pre-law advising program helps you make the right choices and take the right steps to prepare your way.
The liberal arts foundation: The study of law demands the critical thinking, writing and analytical skills, and commitment to scholarship emphasized across the R-MC curriculum. And the practice of law requires expertise in a diverse range of fields. So choose the major at R-MC that inspires and interests you, knowing that the range and depth of R-MC's coursework will build a strong foundation for law school and beyond.
Pre-law advising: R-MC's pre-law advising program provides you with information and advice on topics such as planning your undergraduate curriculum, identifying and applying to schools that best fit your strengths and interests, applying to law school, and preparing for the LSAT. In addition, the program offers opportunities to network with legal professionals and law school graduates and educators as well as to pursue internships within the field. You also can get an inside look at the law school admissions process by meeting with law school admissions officers.
Law school admissions: R-MC graduates have been admitted to law schools throughout the country, including Harvard, American University, the College of William & Mary, the University of Virginia, George Mason University, the University of Richmond, and Washington & Lee.
