Each week the Yellow Jacket chooses to highlight a particular student run organization or club that makes an impact on the Randolph-Macon community. CAB without a doubt changes the way each student views there experience here at Randolph-Macon. In the event that you are reading this article and have no clue who CAB is, it is time for you to get a clue! Just kidding, we could all use some enlightenment when it comes to your knowledge of all the wonderful things CAB does for the student body. Well for starters the abbreviation for CAB stands for Campus Activities Board. The members of CAB are directly involved with providing fun and exciting activities for their fellow students.
CAB is responsible for organizing the Macon Out All Night (MOAN) events every Saturday from 10pm-1am. MOAN events range from watching a movie to watching your friends belt a tune from the karaoke machine. Although particular student clubs host certain MOAN events, MOAN would not be a success without the special effort CAB puts into planning and organizing the events.
Not only does CAB organize MOAN events, but they have also organized day trips to places such as Washington D.C. and most recently to the Baltimore Aquarium. Some upcoming day trips are to Busch Gardens and to Hanover Park in April. In May, there will be a day trip to Virginia Beach. CAB meets every Tuesday evening at 8 pm on the top floor in the campus center. In their meeting they discuss the success of past events as well as the necessary details for upcoming events. Even non-CAB members are encouraged to attend meetings. CAB president Lauren Soles oversees the weekly meeting. She sees to it that CAB is run with the most efficiency as possible. Anthony Keitt is the advisor to CAB. You will often find Anthony Keitt attending the day trips CAB offers. Take a second, look at a calendar; I am sure you will find something CAB has in store for you.
