Tired of the same old same old at Estes dining hall? Plate-warmed cheese pizza just not doing it for you anymore? Looking for something containing that extra ingredient: love? Head no farther than Ms. Connie’s wrap and omelet station. Ms. Connie Hodal a current employee of Chartwells dining services and a long term-employee of Estes dining hall for over thirty years, adds that extra special touch to every dish she makes. Ms. Connie patiently takes student’s orders and calls them each “Darling.” When asked why she keeps her cheerful attitude she responded; “Because I want you to feel welcome at Randolph-Macon your home away from home, and you all are my babies.”
The importance of Ms. Connie’s station should not be easily dismissed. It offers the Estes diner more healthy eating choices, with plenty of fresh vegetables and other fresh ingredients. It also lets the diner pick and choose exactly what they want on their dish. Ms. Connie’s favorite dish to make is the omelet; which also happens to be a favorite of mine to eat.
