Nick Lapres ’13
Jessie Holt graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and a minor in Religious
Studies. From Raleigh, North Carolina, she is the daughter of David and Jami Holt.
A Presidential Scholar, Holt made the Dean's List four times and was a member of
Beta Beta Beta Biology Honors Society. She was also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta
and the Pre-health Society, a peer mentor for the Higgins Academic Center, and a
member of Macon Outdoors and Habitat for Humanity. Holt's biology capstone internship
was at the Fan Free Clinic in Richmond where she learned how to become an HIV test
counselor and did outreach work in the community. She enjoyed celebrating Randolph-Macon's
crushing victories over Hampden-Sydney, especially since her father and brother
are alumni of the rival school.
After graduation, Holt plans to work as a certified nursing assistant in Richmond,
Virginia. She will also attend nursing school to become a nurse practitioner.
Nick Lapres graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in History and a minor in Secondary
Education. From Easton, Maryland, he is the son of Melinda and Gil Lapres.
During his senior year, Lapres worked as a student teacher at Oak Knoll Middle School
in Hanover County, Virginia. At Randolph-Macon, he was vice-president of Kappa Alpha
Order, a campus representative for the Student Government Association (SGA), an
intramural coordinator and a contributor to the Yellow Jacket newspaper.
After graduation, Lapres plans to spend time with his family and hopes to find a
teaching position in the Richmond, Virginia area.
