Questions:
-
What led you to apply for the A. Purnell Bailey Pre-Ministerial Program for Ordained Ministry?
I felt that I was called toward ministry in the United Methodist Church and particularly called toward Randolph-Macon for undergraduate studies so I applied and received the scholarship.
-
What do you like most about the college?
I love the small college atmosphere. The professors are wonderful. They know you by name and are always available to help you when needed. In addition, you really get to know the other students in your class and become involved in this close knit community.
-
What is it like being a participant in the Bailey program?
It is a great opportunity. Not only do I get to meet many people concerned with the inner workings of the Church, but I receive one-on-one guidance on my way to ordination. Also, It is very encouraging to have the other Bailey Scholars to befriend and share thoughts and interests with.
-
What activities are you involved in on campus?
I am very involved and am on leadership with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship. In addition, I am somewhat involved with College Democrats and attend bible study and worship services at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church.
-
What makes R-MC special for you?
The small college atmosphere as mentioned before and the multitude of opportunities available to us makes RMC special for me.
-
What are your future vocational plans?
In the future I hope to work for the United Methodist church in the General Board on Global Ministries doing something related to mission or aid and relief services.
