-
What led you to apply for the A. Purnell Bailey Pre-Ministerial Program for Ordained Ministry?
I knew that God is calling me to the ministry and that I wanted to attend Randolph-Macon, so it was just a perfect fit for me. I love everything about the program and the ways it is helping me get through school and move further along in my path towards ordained ministry.
-
What do you like most about the college?
It’s hard to pick one thing, but I think one of the best things about the school is its size. I like having a small community where students know each other, classes are small, and professors are dedicated to their students.
-
What is it like being a participant in the Bailey program?
So far it has been a great being a participant in the Bailey program. I’ve met new people, and I’ve grown very close with the ’09 and ’08 Bailey scholars. It’s already been a valuable learning experience.
-
What activities are you involved in on campus?
My biggest and favorite involvement is in InterVarsity, where I play drums with the worship team. I’m also a member of RHA as the Hall President for Jones South, and I attend a weekly Bible Study for R-MC students at Duncan Memorial UMC here on campus.
-
What makes R-MC special for you?
R-MC is very special to me because it will be my home for the next 4 years, and I love it. It’s also special to me because my parents attended here, and my brother attends here now, so we have a family legacy here.

What are your future vocational plans?
I intend to go to seminary and become ordained as a deacon. I feel God calling me to youth and/or music ministry. I’m not sure whether it’s just one or some combination of the two. I’m very passionate about music, as well as working with and leading youth, and I have yet to see exactly where God is taking me in my career path. I am very excited about having a career doing what I love in whatever God is calling me to so I can serve and glorify Him.
