What led you to apply for the A. Purnell Bailey Pre-Ministerial Program for Ordained Ministry?
Beginning in my freshman year of high school, I felt like God was calling me to the ministry. I talked with my Minister and Youth Minister about answering the call. My Minister suggested Randolph-Macon College and gave me the information regarding the Bailey Program. I looked at a few other schools and programs, but felt like God was willing me towards the Bailey Program.
-
What do you like most about the college?
I enjoy the social aspect of the campus. I am a very social person and I love going out and meeting new people. There are always new and fun activities being offered in which you can meet new people and make new friends and get involved on campus.
-
What is it like being a participant in the Bailey program?
Being a participant in the Bailey program has been a very positive experience. I have made a few really close friends who understand and share the religious aspect of my life. It has also been an encouragement as far as faith and pursuing God’s call.
-
What activities are you involved in on campus?
Last year I was a member of the Cheerleading squad, but I had to quit in the middle of basketball season because of a knee injury. This year, I have attended a few of the religious activities that are offered on campus such as the Bible Study at Duncan Memorial.
-
What makes R-MC special for you?
R-MC is special to me because of the friends I have made. They are always there for me whenever I need them and are very supportive and encouraging. I do not know where I would be without them in my life.
-
What are your future vocational plans?
I have not quite decided what part of the ministry I want to enter. I am currently considering being a youth pastor or a military chaplain. However, the missions field is also very appealing.
