Joe Witt
Joe Witt enters his fifth-year as Randolph-Macon College's head athletic
trainer in 2007-08.
Prior
to his position at Randolph-Macon, Witt was an assistant athletic trainer
at Radford University from August 2002 until summer 2003. Before that,
he was the head athletic trainer at Riverheads High School from August
2001 until June 2002, and an athletic trainer at Virginia Commonwealth
University from August 2000 until June 2001.
From
August 1994 until May 2000, Witt was the head athletic trainer at Mary
Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia. During some of his time at Mary
Baldwin, he also served as facility director for the college's Physical
Activities Center and as sports information director.
Before
working at Mary Baldwin, Witt was an athletic trainer at Austin Peay
State University, as well as travel coordinator for the men's basketball
team. He has also worked with the Buffalo Bills professional football
team, the NCAA Division I volleyball championships, and several camps.
In addition, Witt has taught courses in CPR, first aid, and other health-related
fields.
Witt
graduated from Roanoke College with a B.S. degree in health and physical
education (athletic training concentration) in 1988. He went on to receive
a masters of science in education (health and physical education major,
sports management concentration) from Virginia Polytechnic Institute
and State University in 1991. Witt is a member of the National Athletic
Trainers Association (NATA), the Mid-Atlantic Trainers Association,
and the Virginia Athletic Trainers Association. He is certified by both
NATA and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
