The Randolph-Macon College women's lacrosse team has been a powerhouse in recent years, as the Yellow Jackets won the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) tournament and advanced to the NCAA Division III playoffs in both 2000 and 2002. In 2005, under new head coach Dan Kanach, R-MC advanced to the ODAC tournament championship game for the first time since 2002, and won nine of the last twelve games of the season. The 2006 and 2007 squad finished third in the conference regular season standings and advanced to the ODAC tournament semifinals both years. The Yellow Jackets are poised for success in 2008 with thirteen returning players, six seniors, and ten newcomers.
No. 5 Randolph-Macon knocked off home standing and fourth-seeded Guilford College 15-14 in the Quarterfinal Round of the 2008 ODAC Women's Lacrosse Championships. R-MC advances to take on top-seeded and semifinal host Washington and Lee on Saturday.
