Maggie McDearmon Named ODAC Volleyball Player-of-the-Year
SALEM, VA – Randolph-Macon College’s Maggie McDearmon has been named the 2006 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Volleyball Player-of-the-Year as the league announced its all-conference teams Saturday afternoon.
McDearmon, who earned her third consecutive spot on the All-ODAC First-Team, becomes the first R-MC volleyball player to earn player-of-the-year honors in the program’s 12 year history. She was joined on the first team by fellow senior Mollee Farrell while fellow classmate Yana Kanoukoeva was named to the second-team.
“I'm proud of my three senior captains and all conference volleyball players,” said R-MC head coach Bill Rogers. “They have distinguished themselves on and off the volleyball court as the leaders of the team and as role models for future teams. The all-conference awards are a fitting end to three outstanding volleyball careers. I could not have asked more of them during their career than they have given.”
