Hot Hitting Bridgewater Sweeps R-MC Softball 10-0 & 13-1
ASHLAND, VA – Twenty-fourth ranked Bridgewater College swept an ODAC softball doubleheader from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland on Saturday afternoon by the scores of 10-0 and 13-1.
With the wins, the Eagles improve to 30-4 on the year and 13-1 in the ODAC. R-MC drops to 20-11 overall and 7-9 in the league after the pair of losses.
In game one, BC used an eight run fourth inning on their way to the victory. Lisa Rhodes went the distance for the Eagles and allowed just three hits and striking out three.
In game two, the Eagles pounded out 14 hits and got strong performances in the circle from Lindsay Lam and Ashley Gills who combined to allow just one run on three hits. Lindsay Ware had three hits and three RBI for BC in the win.
Randolph-Macon’s game with Eastern Mennonite scheduled for Sunday has been postponed while BC is slated to travel to Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday.
