Head Coach Peter McEvoy
Peter McEvoy enters his fourth season as the head coach of the Randolph-Macon Men's Soccer program in 2008.
Over his first three seasons at the helm, R-MC has posted a 25 wins, including 12 against ODAC foes.
In his first season, R-MC finished 12-4-2 overall and 4-3-2 in ODAC matches.
Also in 2005, goalkeeper Nick Warner became the first Yellow Jacket to earn ODAC Player-of-the-Year honors since 1996.
Before coming to Randolph-Macon, McEvoy was head varsity soccer coach at Salisbury School in Connecticut from 2000 to 2004. He also served as associate director of admissions, dorm master, and academic advisor there. McEvoy was co-chair of the New England Senior All-Star Competition as well.
Prior to his position at Salisbury School, McEvoy was an assistant men's soccer coach and co-director of soccer camps at the University of Richmond from 1997 to 2000. In addition, during his time there he was assistant director of operations for the NCAA Division I soccer "Final Four" in 1997-98, co-director of the YES Clinic in 1997-98, and co-director of an international event featuring the United States and Jamaican U-20 national teams in 1998.
McEvoy also served as head coach of the Richmond Capitals travel team from 1997 to 2000, head boy's varsity soccer coach at Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts from 1996 to 1997, and assistant men's soccer coach at Amherst College (1995-1996) and Wheaton College (1994-1995), both in Massachusetts. He assisted with operations for the 1994 World Cup as well.
As a student-athlete at the University of Massachusetts, McEvoy was a two-year captain for the men's soccer team. During his career he was the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, all-conference, and two-time all-NEISL. Before attending Massachusetts, McEvoy graduated from Deerfield Academy, where he was a first-team All-American.
McEvoy received a B.S. degree in sports management from the University of Massachusetts in 1997. He received his Advanced National Diploma Coaching License, With Distinction, from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America in 2000. McEvoy and his wife, Molly, are proud parents of daughters Calli and Abby. The family resides in Richmond.
