In September of 2006 Randolph-Macon College began a new era of competitive lacrosse when they hired Mike Plantholt as the head coach of their men’s lacrosse team. Plantholt looks to find success at Randolph Macon much the same way he has found success at his previous employer, Gettysburg College, teaching accountability, commitment, hard work, the fundamentals of the game, and recruiting great student-athletes. As always, RMC will be competing in arguably the toughest conference in the nation for lacrosse, the ODAC. Last year four of the league’s seven teams were ranked in the top 20 of the USILA coaches’ poll. In 2007, the team returns two all conference players and their leading scorer from the previous year.
