Many
things changed during this two week journey in Louisiana. Houses
changed from a mildew, molded, flooded, debris filled building to
a brightened home with a rebuilding future. Professors changed roles
from teaching to administration and from instructor to participant.
29 college students were transformed to styling unfashionable clothes,
smelling of grime accompanied with a change of thought in the way
we embrace our own lives and those surrounding us. Friendships changed
as we all became closer and created an everlasting bond so that
each time we see the face of a classmate we're reminded of the memories
we experienced together. We learned that it's not the house that's
important...it's the home and though a natural disaster has the
potential to destroy a house; often the home resides in the heart
where the doors are always open.
