I just received your letter and thought I would send you a paragraph or two.
I did not pursue further education in physics following my graduation in '67. Instead, I began a career at The Travelers Insurance Company in Hartford, Ct. studying to become a casualty actuary. I completed my exams and became a Fellow of The Casualty Actuarial Society in 1974. During my years of studying my wife and I had four children.
I left The Travelers in 1990 and moved to Tallahassee, Fl. becoming a regulator of insurance companies. Since then I tried consulting work in Ohio working as a Principal for William M. Mercer and Co. I did not enjoy that work particularly and returned to Tallahassee in 1996, again as a regulator for the Dept. of Ins. My wife died in 1998 and I began preparing to retire, which I did at the end of 2003.
Currently I'm active at church, enjoy a game of bridge several times a week and live on a pond on the 6th hole of Killearn Country Club. I don't get up to Ashland much eventhough two of my children live in Alexandria, Va.
I wish you well and enjoyed hearing what's going on.
Sincerely, Skip
