I currently work for the Department of the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery
as an Operations Research Analyst. I work in the Business Planning Division and
analyze how Navy Medical Treatment Facilities perform relative to given thresholds
under varying factors. Since military medicine is constantly changing due to budget
changes and the current war efforts, there are a lot of things to look at in helping
a hospital or clinic reach its goals and remain productive despite budget constraints
or deployments. I monitor how the facilities are performing and report up to the
Navy Surgeon General on these results.
I will also be running my first race this October in the Army Ten-Miler in
Washington, DC.
That's about all I'm doing. It's not as exciting as my last job, actually,
but it was a promotion which was probably worth it.
