Mine Eren received a MA in Deutsch als Fremdsprache from the Ludwig Maximilian University and her MA and PhD in German Studies from Brown University. She is Associate Professor of German and the director of the Film Studies Program at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia. She has organized film festivals to introduce the work by German-Turkish and other ethnic film directors to an American audience. Her publications focus mainly on this subject and the work by Fatih Akın. She has also contributed as writer and associate editor to the Biographical Encyclopedia of the Modern Middle East (2007). Her current book project examines the impact of the 1960s on Turkish/German culture and cinema.
