Faculty is not involved in pre-professional internships. These internships are negotiated between the
student and the employer with assistance from the director of the Bassett Internship Program.
Pre-professional internships are career-oriented experiences where student interns are paid directly by
the employer. More than summer jobs, pre-professional internships provide a meaningful educational
experience in a real work environment for students who are qualified. Employers are often interested in
using on-the-job evaluations to prepare for their hiring season, so these positions are ideal for rising
juniors or seniors preparing for the work world.
