Randolph-Macon College is proud to be an educational partner with the Disney College Program, offering
you the opportunity to Live, Learn, and Earn while enjoying the magic of Disney in Orlando, Fla. You'll
stay in Disney-owned housing with other students. You'll have the opportunity to earn academic credit
through Disney-crafted courses that focus around an area of Walt Disney World� expertise and those offered
by Randolph-Macon. Then, as an intern, you'll be able to apply this knowledge immediately at a work location.
You'll earn income as a Disney Cast Member. And you'll receive free access to Disney theme parks.
The following provides some basic information about the program, but you are encouraged to contact the
director of the Bassett Internship Program for more details. Also,
immediate-past alumni from the Disney College Program are available to you as College reps for the
program.
Consider the benefits of participating in the Disney College Program:
- You will develop transferable skills in guest services, problem solving, service recovery, effective
communication, teamwork, leadership, attention to detail, time management, responsibility and find personal
empowerment, self-confidence and cultural sensitivity.
- Open to all majors, you'll earn a minimum of $6.67/hour. This may be increased depending on the role you
serve.
- Once you complete your College Program, you'll have the opportunity to apply for a professional
internship, which gives you the opportunity to work in a field that more closely aligns with your major, in
departments such as:
- Human resources, art and design, communications, education, finance and accounting, and
science.
- This internship will be a highlight on your resume, increasing your value to potential employers and
graduate schools
- In your free time, you will be able to enjoy many Walt Disney World features.
- Theme park admission to the Magic Kingdom� Park, Epcot� Disney-MGM Studios and Disney's Animal
Kingdom� Theme Park.
- A Main Entrance Pass that allows you to admit as many as three friends or family members into the
theme parks six times during your program.
- Discounts at select merchandise and food and beverage locations at the Walt Disney World� Resort and
in the local community.
- Discounts on admission to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon� and Disney's Blizzard Beach� water parks and
Pleasure Island�.
- Resort discounts for family and friends at select times.
- Access to Mickey's Retreat, a Cast-exclusive recreation area.
- Opportunities to participate in unique holiday celebrations.
When You Should Expect To Work:
- As a Cast Member, you may be working nights, weekends or holidays during the program, but the Disney Program
will, of course, work around your classroom schedule, and you'll have time to study and relax with friends.
- Cast Members are guaranteed at least 30 hours per week, but you may work up to 45 hours per week.
- During peak and holiday seasons, you may be scheduled to work more than 45 hours per week.
- As a Cast Member, you will be eligible for pay-rate and a half when you exceed 40 hours/week.
- Internship programs through Disney are offered as six-month programs from January through August, June
through January, and during the summer months. If you participate in the summer internship, educational options
are not available.
You'll also have the opportunity to attend training classes, personal and professional-development
learning activities and networking sessions with Disney leaders.
