Student Intern:
After you have been approved for the program and have confirmed a placement site, you must do the
following:
- prepare a work plan in cooperation with the designated person at the worksite
- keep a log or journal of on-the-job experiences
- participate in the on-going operations at work
- offer to complete a critique at the end of the work period
Work-site Supervisor:
The person who supervises interns at the worksite has the following responsibilities:
- assists you in preparing your work plan
- provides meaningful work and adequate supervision
- trains and orients you as needed and informs other employees of your intern status with the
organization
- submits regular timesheets to the director of the Bassett Internship Program to authorize stipend
payments
- provides on-going and final evaluations of your work performance to the director of the Bassett
Internship Program
Faculty Coordinator:
Faculty is not involved in pre-professional internships. These internships are negotiated between the
student and the employer with assistance from the director of the Bassett Internship Program.
