The Bassett Internship Program, housed in the Birdsong Peaks of Excellence Center, offers a universe of internship opportunities. The Bassett Program is supported by the Center for Career and Counseling Services. With placements in over 1,000 sites in more than 20 states, Washington, DC, and 11 foreign countries, students get an opportunity to explore the world of work. The Bassett Internship Program is dedicated to providing a real-world backdrop for future academic learning, as well as preparation for life after graduation.

Four types of internships are available through the Bassett Program. Academic Internships grant students the opportunity to learn about the world of work while earning academic credit and a grade. The Center assists in recruitment and placement in summer internships with public service and non-profit organizations, with financial support from Alcoa. Pre-Professional Internships offer summer, paid positions which are career-directed in nature. These internships allow the student and employers the opportunity for realistic job previews and an eye to employment. Finally, R-MC is an educational partner with the Disney College Program.
