About Dr. Munson's Research

I am currently working on two projects. First, I am midway through a series of articles related to Japanese travel literature. Second, I am at work on a book manuscript about Japanese news media of the mid-nineteenth century. I conducted primary research for both projects while on a Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad grant from January to December of 2002, during which time I lived in Yokohama and spent countless hours at the Yokohama Archives of History. My advisor in Japan was Kato Yuzo, Professor and President Emeritus of Yokohama Shiritsu Daigaku.
