Mentoring Opportunities / Advocacy Services
Women's Resource Center Director, Shalise Bates-Pratt, offers mentoring to students who are seeking support, education, information and resources related to their personal and professional issues. In the event that a student needs additional supportive assistance and advocacy, this can also be provided on a case by case basis. This service is free and open to both women and men. Appointments are not necessary but are recommended (x3205).
Below are a few examples of topics that the Women’s Resource Center can help you get more information about:
1. Issues related to gender/ women’s studies course offerings. 2. Gender issues and leadership on/off campus. 3. Gender/women’s career and internship choices. 4. Who to go to about discrimination based on gender on campus. 5. Sexual harassment, Sexual assault. 6. Dating /Relationship violence issues, Unhealthy Relationships. 7. Ideas about programs and events that deal with gender issues.
Office hours are Monday- Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm and by appointment in the Women's Resource Center, located in Room 211, upstairs in the Brown Campus Center.
