The R-MC One in Four Committee of Macon Peer Response
Men working to end rape, one school at a time.
WHAT IS ONE IN FOUR?
One in Four (sometimes written as 1 in 4), is a nationwide, men's sexual assault peer education group that seeks to educate male college students, high school students and local community groups about what they can do to stop rape in their communities, and how they can be more supportive to victims of rape or sexual assault. The Randolph-Macon College Chapter of One in Four, is a sub-committee of the co-ed peer advocated group, Macon Peer Response.

ONE IN FOUR MISSION
The mission of One in Four is to be the ones who inform men on campus to help the one in four women on campuses who survive rape and attempted rape.
ACTIVITIES/EVENTS/SERVICES
One in Four chapters, like the one here at Randolph-Macon, are trained to conduct special presentations and educational workshops, geared to providing men with the resources they need to support friends and family members who have been victims of sexual violence. To accomplish this task, One in Four utilizes The Men's Program. This program is a one hour workshop titled "How to Help a Sexual Assault Survivor: What Men Can Do." The Men's Program is usually presented by trained male peer educators to all-male groups. Published research shows that this unique program has the dual benefit of educating men how to help their friends recover from a rape experience while lowering men's rape myth acceptance and their self-reported likelihood of raping.
The Randolph-Macon Chapter of One in Four also partners with other student groups and offices (Gender Resource Center, Counseling Center) on campus to do general sexual assault education to the entire community.
Some examples of programs sponsored (or co-sponsored) by One in Four are as follows:
