SEXUAL & RELATIONSHIP VIOLENCE RESOURCES
Sexual Assault, Sexual Harrassment, Rape and Relationship Violence are all serious issues that are violations of the RMC student code of conduct. Being forced into sexual activity, whether by a date, a steady relationship, a casual acquaintance, or a stranger is sexual assault.
Also, if you are dating, or in a relationship with someone else on campus who is verbally, physically or sexually abusing you, this is relationship violence. People who are abusive to their romantic partners exhibit a wide variety of abusive behaviors that include, but are not limited to:
- Extreme Jealousy and Controlling Behavior
- (i.e.--checking your emails, checking sent/recieved calls on cell phone, checking reading facebook/myspace messages, etc.)
- Embarassing you on purpose
- Intimidation, bullying or threats
- Insults, Criticism or verbal "put-downs"
- Forced Isolation from family and friends
- Stalking
- (i.e.-spying on you, following you constantly showing up where you are, making persistent phone calls/text messages, etc.)
- Hitting, Shoving, Pinching, Choking, Biting, etc.
- Threating to reveal personal information about you
- Making you do things against your will.
If you think that you or a friend have been sexually assaulted, sexually harassed, or are in an abusive relationship, please take advantage of the resources listed below:
ONLINE SEXUAL ASSAULT REPORTING FORM (Click here to file a report.) The college strongly encourages students who have been sexually assaulted or harrassed to file a report on the Online Reporting System. This system allows students to report incidents of abuse or violence to the Sexual Assault Response Coordinators. This report does not reveal the victim's identity unless they want it to, but it does help the administration track and respond to incidents of sexual and relationship violence and plan for prevention resources and programs. Students who have experienced this form of violence can access campus services through this system without making a formal report.
MACON PEER RESPONSE (CLICK HERE TO GET MORE INFORMATION.)
Macon Peer Response (MPR) is a peer education, response and referral service provided by a group of students who are trained to provide confidential sexual assault and relationship violence education and referral assistance.
How to contact MPR via phone:
Call RMC Campus Safety at 752-4710 and ask to speak with a Macon Peer Responder. Campus Safety will get you in contact with an MPR.
CLICK HERE TO GET A PDF COPY OF THE RMC SEXUAL ASSAULT & HARASSMENT RESOURCES BROCHURE.
