Summer Housing

Summer Housing at R-MC

Randolph-Macon College is happy to offer summer housing for students who fall into one of these categories:

• šR-MC Summer Worker (working at least 20 hours a week) – Session I and/or Session II
• šSURF Student
• šSummer School Student - Session I and/or Session II
• R-MC Summer Internship

Here are the summer policies that we ask all summer students to be familiar with:

• Summer Housing room assignments will be made by the Office of Residence Life and Housing. Students may indicate roommate preferences; however, roommate requests will only be honored if both parties request each other (space permitting).
• Students enrolled in summer school classes only and are residential students are required to sign up for a meal plan.
• Students will be required to sign a summer housing and meal contract.
• All other policies and procedures will remain in effect.  Students should review the Student Handbook.
• For more information on the costs of room and board, students should check out the Registrar Office's website. 
• Students selected for SURF (Schapiro Undergraduate Research Fellowship) will be housed in townhouses and will be assigned by the Coordinator of Housing. 
• Students involved in summer programs will not be allowed to store their items in residential facilities between the end of the academic year and the start of their respective summer program or the end of their summer program and the start of the academic year.
• All students residing at R-MC for the summer will receive communication via email regarding move in and out dates and procedures. 
• Students must work a minimum of 20 hours per week to be eligible for on campus housing at no cost for the summer 2012. In addition, the Office hiring the student worker must also turn in a form to the Office of Residence Life and Housing.

• Please also be advised that for Summer 2014, there may be a fee for all students who live in the residence halls over the summer regardless of how many hours the work as a student worker.

Summer School Dates:

Summer Session I (6-weeks)
Wednesday, June 5th – Thursday, July 18th (final exam: Friday, July 19th)
No class on Thursday, July 4th

Summer Session II (4-weeks)
Monday, June 24th – Thursday, July 18th (final exam: Friday, July 19th)
No class on Thursday, July 4th

Room and Board Costs:

6 week session - $930 
4 week session - $620

To Request Summer Housing:

Summer School Housing Request Form 
Any student signed up for summer school, summer internships, or working on campus (as a summer worker) must complete this form and submit the form to Carol Bailey in the Office of Residence Life and Housing by May 1st. 

Summer Student Worker Housing Request Form 
Faculty and Staff members must submit this form to the Office of Residence Life and Housing to request housing for a summer student worker by May 1st.

Students approved for Summer Housing, must fill out:

Summer Housing and Meal Plan Contract - please complete by May 1st.
