The Chenery Research Grant 2013-2014
This endowment was established in honor of Dr. Alan Chenery. Its purpose is to encourage research in the sciences at Randolph-Macon College.
Chenery Research Grants are open to members of the faculty of the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics, or other faculty engaged in laboratory research. Applicants may propose projects of up to one year’s duration. Projects may not begin before July 1, 2014. Stipends of $1,250 per month will be given for research conducted during the summer months. Budgets may include the cost of hiring student assistants.
In the event that there are more meritorious applications than can be funded, preference will be given to applicants beginning their research careers or entering a new area of research, applicants who have not received a Chenery Grant or held a Chenery Professorship previously, and applicants who have applied for extramural support.
A proposal, not including the title page and the attached curriculum vitae must not exceed ten typewritten pages. Applicants for the Chenery Grant should also consult the General Guidelines for Faculty Grants.
The deadline for receipt of proposals in the Provost's Office is January 31, 2014. Electronic submissions are acceptable.
