The media production services at the MIS include video production, creating digital images and documents, web page development and large format printing. We provide pedagogical and technical assistance, training R-MC faculty and students on design and development of media materials for teaching and learning. We also offer training on how to use classroom technologies and equipment.
The media production services are for College functions only. Here are the policies and fee schedules. We request patrons observe copyright and fair use guidelines when using our services and equipment.
Video Production
Students and faculty may borrow DV camcorders for teaching and learning activities. A reel-to-reel VHS editing system is located behind the video shelves in the library. Patrons are welcome to use it for making video copies and combining video clips. The MIS staff will help patrons with advanced audio and video editing needs, such as
- mixing audio and video from separate sources,
- adding titles and subtitles to the video,
- preparing audio and videos files for computer and web display,
- creating digital audio and videos in music CD, DVD or video CD (VCD) formats, and
- teaching individuals digital video editing and effective PowerPoint presentations

Digital Image, Audio and Video
Faculty and students may check out digital still image cameras from the MIS office for teaching and learning activities. A flatbed scanner is connected to one of the PCs in the group workstations in the library. Photoshop Elements is installed on that computer for image touchup. Patrons are also welcome to use the equipment and programs in the Production Room during our office hours (Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 5:00) and a few evenings when the Student Media Producer is on duty (see the hours posted on the door).
Users may receive assistance in using the following equipment and software:

- a high-resolution image and slide scanner
- Photoshop for image touchup and editing
- Macromedia Web Suite for web page, web image and animation creation
- Omnipage Pro for the transfer of scanned documents into editable Word files
- Acrobat for creating PDF files
- Premiere Elements for video editing
- Audacity for sound editing
- DVD authoring
Macintosh iMac with
- Photoshop for image touchup and editing
- Macromedia Web Suite for web page, web image and animation creation
- Acrobat for creating PDF files
- iMovie for movie editing
- DVD authoring
