Audiovisual Classroom
This multi-purpose classroom on first floor of the library is equipped for video, audio and computer presentations. It has a large screen and projectors for video, computer-output, film, slides, DVD, laser disc, and audio. The room seats up to 46 people.
The Audiovisual Classroom may be used for R-MC academic and administrative functions. Film Studies courses have priority. Individual class sessions requiring use of media may use the room, but should not schedule it as the primary meeting location of a course. Students may not use the room without the supervision of an R-MC faculty, staff member, or a student trained and authorized by the MIS office. Film showings for less than three people are discouraged; one or two individuals may use the media carrels for viewing films. The media carrels are located behind the video shelves.
Advance reservations are required. Outside of office hours, the room will be available Sunday through Wednesday, 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Faculty and staff should contact the Media & Instructional Support office (x7302 or x4711) for scheduling the use of the Audiovisual Classroom.
Food and beverages may not be consumed in the room without the approval of the Library Director.

Computer Room
The computer room is intended primarily for classroom instruction in the use of library materials. Twenty-four computer stations are arranged in a classroom position and projection is aimed towards the front, where there is an instructor's monitor and a white board. Food and drink are not allowed in the room.
Faculty should contact their Librarian Liaisons for using the Computer Room to teach research and information skills. Other instructional use should be approved by the Library Director. No classes may be scheduled on a regular basis through the Registrar's Office, except ones taught by librarians.
A second function of the room is as an open computer lab. In order to let students know when the lab is unavailable, class sessions will be posted weekly. Librarians will try to limit formal instruction to one hour, followed by an open period of searching, during which other students may be allowed back into the room.
The room may be reserved by outside groups only in the context of an event such as Ed Tech, which is held when school is not in session.

Special Collections Room
The primary purpose of the Special Collections Room is to serve readers using the collections. The books in the glass cases are from the Methodist Collection and our collection of rare books (published before 1850). Researchers in Special Collections may at times use the room if the researcher study area is in use, with materials brought to them from the Special Collections stacks.
The secondary purpose of the Special Collections Room is to serve for meetings and presentations. It is equipped with computer presentation, audiovisual equipment and screen. The central table accommodates 18 chairs comfortably. Food and beverages may not be consumed in the room without the approval of the Library Director. Meetings scheduled past library hours must also receive approval from the Director.
The room may be reserved through Media & Instructional Support. It may not be scheduled for a standing class, but would be appropriate for final class presentations.
Because of the preciousness of the room's contents, groups must lock the door behind them when finished. Failing to do so will lead to losing permission to use the room in the future.
