To Whom Does This Document Apply: This training module applies to all current users of the Sitecore Web Content Management System (CMS) at Randolph-Macon College who are actively using Internet Explorer versions 7 and 8. And web content editor using any version of Safari or Firefox many disregard this training document as the steps do not apply to those browsers.
Also note that the steps contained herein must be completed on all computers that the content editor intends to use for the purposes of web management. Fortunately, these steps need only be done once per computer and are valid when completed until the system is either replaced or reformatted.
Users of Internet Exlorer 6: Please contact the R-MC ITS department and request an immediate upgrade to Internet Explorer 7. Internet Explorer 6 is no longer supported, and will not work in the CMS. You must upgrade.
This update of March 6, 2008 concerns reports of scripting errors similar to the one pictured below when users attempted to either upload files or set image/table properties. It is absolutely critical that the following steps be followed completely to correct this error. These steps will restore normal, full access to the CMS.
This error message is the result of having a popup blocker and phishing filter enabled for trusted sites. This addendum assumes that the steps described previously in this document have been completed, and that http://www.rmc.edu is listed among the trusted sites on your browser.
