STUDENT EMPLOYMENT AT R-MC:
1. FEDERAL WORK STUDY AND COLLEGE-FUNDED WORK STUDY jobs are overseen by the Financial Aid Office (752-7259) located at 206 East Patrick Street in Pannill House: Visit the Financial Aid office or its website to learn more about Federal Work Study and College-Funded Work study jobs: http://www.rmc.edu/financial-aid/studentemployment.aspx
If you are offered a federal work study or college-funded work-study position, you should work with the Financial Aid office about the processing of your HOURLY STUDENT EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION form:
NEW STUDENT WORKERS WITH WORK STUDY JOBS: Skip to Number 3 below and take signed authorization to Human Resources in Peele Hall.
RETURNING STUDENT WORKERS WITH WORK STUDY JOBS: No need to go to Human Resources if you have worked on campus in the past. Take signed authorization to Financial Aid for processing.
2. Other jobs are available for student leadership and other responsibilities that students are selected for through the years, including positions in student government, The Yellow Jacket newspaper, Orientation Leader, Tour Guide, Resident Assistant, and Research Assistant. Also, Referee jobs for intramural sports are available through Bill Blackmore at the Brock Center (752-3785) or wblackmo@rmc.edu
These positions require the completion of the "SPECIAL STUDENT EMPLOYMENT HIRING AUTHORIZATION FORM" by the staff or faculty member who is the supervisor.
3. AFTER YOU HAVE THE AUTHORIZATION SIGNED, PLEASE BRING THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION TO HUMAN RESOURCES IN PEELE HALL (Kara Peatross, Hr Assistant (Student Employment), 752-7312, KaraPeatross@rmc.edu) :
*Signed "HOURLY STUDENT EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION" from your supervisor (form provided by Financial Aid Office if College-Funded or Federal Work Study) OR Signed "SPECIAL STUDENT EMPLOYMENT HIRING AUTHORIZATION" for non-work study jobs:
*Documentation described on back of I-9 form: Most students satisfy this requirement by providing a driver's license and Social Security card, but see the following instructions for a complete list of acceptable documents: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-9.pdf
In Human Resources, you will complete Federal and Virginia Withholding tax forms, the I-9, and direct deposit forms if you are interested in having your check deposited into a local bank:

4. RECEIVING AND TURNING IN TIME SHEETS:
IF FEDERAL WORK STUDY OR COLLEGE-FUNDED WORK STUDY, AFTER COMPLETING HR PAPERWORK, TAKE AUTHORIZATION BACK TO FINANCIAL AID OFFICE FOR PROCESSING AND TIME SHEET INFORMATION
OR
FOR STUDENTS HIRED FOR NON-WORK STUDY POSITIONS, TIME SHEETS WILL BE PROVIDED BY HUMAN RESOURCES WHEN PAPERWORK IS COMPLETE. Turn time sheet in to the BUSINESS OFFICE by 4 PM on the date due.
If you are late in turning in your time sheet, a paycheck will not be issued until the next pay date.
