You Are Here
The Randolph-Macon Writing Center
Spring Hours: (Feb 17- May 16)
Sun: 6 pm - 11 pm
Mon--Thurs: 2 pm - 11 pm
Why Visit? - Our tutors rock. We are staffed by students, for students. Tutors come in all shapes, interests, and backgrounds--what they share is a love of writing, a friendly attitude, and an excitement about helping you.
- Help is on the way. Feeling uncertain about how to write a biology paper? Not sure what your sociology professor is asking for? A little unclear about your organization? Are you great with grammar but not so clear on those commas? We're the ones who can help you before you turn that paper in.
- What goes on, anyway? When you come to the writing center, we set aside 45 minutes of one-on-one time to help you. If you don't need that much time, that's fine. Some people want more, and they make follow-up appointments after their first set of revisions.
- Need something more? We specialize in academic papers, but we do more! If you want help with an application, a short story, or a submission to graduate school, we can give you feedback on that too. We also support writers through campus speakers, events, and off-campus trips.
Although you can just stop by, an appointment is better. You can sign up with our online scheduler prior to the day of the appointment.
That's the best part. We have a great crew that you can get to know. Find one you like and keep coming back for more.

Hi. My name is Maggie, and I am a senior at RMC. I am majoring in Women's Studies with a minor in Philosophy. I am best at helping with Research and Philosophy papers. I am looking forward to helping people with their writing while working at the Writing Center. The last place I want to be is a boring tutoring session, so I will make it as fun as writing can be! |

Hi, my name is David Sullivan. I am a junior here at Macon. I am a Physics major and plan to minor in Mathematics and Computer Science. I enjoy sports and play soccer for Randolph-Macon. I enjoy assisting my peers in any way that I can. Feel free to come visit at the Writing Center and I'll see what I can do for you. |

Hello! My name is Kimberly Turner. I’m a senior from Fredericksburg, Virginia. I am an International Studies major with a minor in Political Science. I also work for the Dean of Students office and am Vice-President of the International Interest Group. I’m great at paper organization, especially research papers. I can help with any type of paper, even though my greatest experience is with Political Science and English. Feel free to come to me with any writing help you may need--I can’t wait to offer any help that you may need! |

Entering my senior year of college here at Randolph-Macon, I, Randy Timmerman, look forward to working with all of you this year. I grew up right down the road in Mechanicsville, Virginia, so the Ashland and Richmond areas are very well known to me. I love working with people of all ages, playing computer games with my friends, and listening to music while I do my school work. When I graduate from Randolph-Macon, I plan on entering the ministry; I believe I have an affinity for descriptive and informative writing. |

My name is Kent Cox-- nice to meet you. I'm a sophomore here at Randolph Macon with a major in Music. I'm from Mechanicsville, Virigina and graduated from Westminster Academy in Richmond. Hobbies/interests include singing, piano, composing, writing and musical theater. I thought I'd take a swing at tutoring because I like writing and helping people with their papers. My favorite types of papers are creative writing assignments but I'm happy to help you with whatever you need. |

Hi, I'm Lia. I'm a sophomore at R-MC and plan on majoring in Arts Management with a minor in English/Writing. In addition to working in the writing center, I'm involved in Greek Life, SGA, and occasionally make a meager attempt at intramural sports. Writing is one of the most difficult academic skills to master, and nothing beats the satisfaction of knowing that you're improving or, for me, helping someone improve. So feel free to come to me with your papers and hopefully give us all a minor boost in morale! |

Hey there, I'm Kaitlyn and I am a sophomore from a small town outside Richmond. I am majoring in Psychology and minoring in English-Writing. In addition to my job as a writing tutor, I work at the Higgins Academic Center as a clerical worker and a mentor. I consider creative writing my specialty, and I love fantasy and narratives! Publishing a book is on my bucket list (now, as for my alias, I'm still thinking it through). If you wanna swing by the library, I'd be happy to hang out with you and make writing papers a breeze!

Hey guys, my name is Mario Jackson and I am currently a sophmore. I am majoring in Vocal music and minoring in Education with the hopes of being a music teacher in the future. I enjoy drawing, singing, and theatre so I always make time for the arts. Also I enjoy writing because it can be considered another form of art. Writing is an awesome way to express yourself. So, if you ever need assistance with your writing, it would be my pleasure to assist. :] |

Hey, my name is Dawson and I am a sophomore here at R-MC! I have not declared a major but I am considering going into architecture. I love playing soccer and just being active altogether. I'm very talkative and love meeting new people. Drop by some time and let me know what I can help you with! |

Hello, I’m Elanya Chin and I’m a senior. I am majoring in International Studies (emphasis in Latin American culture & society) as well as Philosophy. Besides clocking hours in the library, I also work as a tour guide and peer mentor. I believe there is nothing more empowering than the realization of how much choice we have: over our attitudes, work ethic, friendships, etc. If you need help with any sort of writing assignment, THE CHOICE IS YOURS- visit the writing center! |
