- Does the author give adequate support to make the argument persuasive? What was the most convincing argument?
- Does the author appeal to emotion? If so, is it effective? Should the tone be changed?
- Does the content seem appropriate for the intended audience? Should anything be added or changed?
- Are there any consistent mechanical problems (grammar, punctuation, etc.)?
- Does the author use references appropriately?
- Choose the three least effective, ungrammatical, or poorly written sentences in the paper and note them in the right margin with an X.
- Name one thing you learned from the paper or that you thought the author did well.
