Since its founding in 1830, alumni, parents, foundations and friends have established more than 200 endowed scholarships, thus ensuring the important legacy of an accessible liberal arts education. Approximately 89 percent of all R-MC students receive some form of scholarship or need-based financial aid. In addition to providing financial assistance, scholarships serve to attract outstanding student scholars from across the nation and around the globe. These students contribute new ideas, fresh perspectives, and enrich the academic, social, and cultural programs on campus.

Meet a scholarship donor
Mr. John H. Clements, a member of the Class of 1952 and Chairman of the Bank of Southside, has always been a strong advocate for Randolph Macon. His personal involvement spanning decades of volunteer service in a variety of roles which eventually lead to his service as Chairman of Randolph-Macon’s governing Board of Trustees. Among his acts of volunteer leadership, Mr. Clements established the Lillie P. and John H. Clements Scholarship in 2000. The Clements scholarship was created to provide financial support to four qualified students in the region and community where he resides, the Southside portion of Virginia which includes the counties of Dinwiddie, Sussex, Prince George, Chesterfield, and Greensville and the cities of Colonial Heights, Hopewell, Petersburg and Emporia.
Meet a scholarship recipient or two or three!
Each year hundreds of students receive financial support to attend Randolph Macon College. The Office of Financial Aid administers all student scholarships, including endowed scholarships. Students are awarded scholarships based on criteria developed by generous donors in coordination with the Office of College Advancement. Most scholarships are based on financial need (as determined by federal and state guidelines) or academic merit, but many are reserved for students living in a specific geographic region, enrolling in a specific area of study, or planning to pursue certain career paths.
