Career Symposia are occupation-specific programs designed to show
students the variety of career options available to them, regardless of their academic
major. The Alumni Office and the Career Center collaborate in the planning and in
the presentation of the symposia. These programs feature successful R-MC alumni
who describe how they have used their liberal arts education in their careers. The
primary goals of the symposia are to assist students in understanding that they
can do almost anything with their chosen major and that their liberal arts education
affords them the opportunity to pursue a wide range of professional interests.
Academic departments are invited to participate and co-sponsor career symposia,
particularly when the theme of a given symposia compliments a major in their department.
