Abs, Arms & Glutes- This class will target the abdominals, arms and gluteus muscle areas. The class will use a variety of equipment including free weights resistance bands, stability blass and BOSUs to strengthen these muscle groups.
Aikido- is a Martial Art that emphasizes a way of harmonizing with the energy of the Universe. It moves in harmony with the movement of an opponent rather than in conflict with it. Ideally, the structure of conflict is changed to a structure of harmony, and the conflict can be resolved without anyone getting injured. (max. 12-15 students)
BOSU/On the ball- This 1 hour class will use a dome shaped "bosu" that will challenge your balance and increase your strength. Cardio intervals are integrated into a fun and effective workout. A fun and challenging total body wouk out using also the stability ball to improve strength, balance, and core stability. A cardiovascular component using the ball will be included for a complete body conditioning class. All finess levels.
Cardio Interval- An hour filled with high and low intensity activity designed to improve you cardiovascular endurance. Floor aerobics, sports agility drills, and strength training will challenge you. Class format will vary and may include all aerobic activity or intervals of power moves with strength training. All finess levels.
Cardio-Kickboxing- This class is for those who desire a high intensity, all over conditioning class with little choreography. All fitness levels can learns to jab, cross, hook, and kick into great shape. This class is designed to give you a high-energy cardio workout and is not intended as a self-defense class.
Indoor Cycling- This 1 hour class is a high energy, low impact cardiovascular and lower body workout using specially designed stationary bikes. Ideal for all fitness levels. Bring water bottle.
Intermediate Aikido-Students will gain an understanding of the intermediate level of Aikido and continue discussion of how Aikido can be used in our daily communication to resolve conflict in a non-combative way. The class will study the specific Aikido techniques leading to promotion the intermediate ranks of fourth, third and second kyu.
Men's weight training- This 1- hour class will include power lifting and body building training. Students will learn proper weight training techniques and design programs for every fitness level. This class requires student registration in registrar's office.
Pilates-Pilates is a series of exercises developed by Joseph Pilates designed to strengthen and stretch the body. You will be guided through a series of specific floor exercises that will improve your balance, coordination and circulation. Pilates is designed to improve your core strength (lower back and abdominals), balance the muscles around the joints, and enhance your functional fitness(ease of movement). No impact. No cardio. All fitness levels.
Step Aerobics- Taught at an intermediate level, this class utilizes the step for variety in your cardiovascular conditioning program. A 10-minute warm-up followed by 40 minutes of fun cardio choreography on the step and 10 minutes of abdominal exercise will effectively increase your cardio endurance and provide lower body conditioning.
Tai Chi- This is a traditional forms class that focuses on breathing and relaxing your body and mind with slow movements. The benefits include: improved body balance and coordination, strength, improved flexibility, and learning to concentrate on self-performance and self-awareness. Daily practice also helps improve cardiovascular health. Tai Chi benefits anyone with low energy, high levels of tension, depression, anger anxiety and mood disturbances.
Women's weight training- This 1-hour class is designed specifically for women. The class includes weight training for the entire body, stretching and abdominal work. Target training in specific areas such legs, gluts, abdominal and arms. Students must register through the registrar's office.
Yoga - A popular form of Hatha Yoga, which incorporates all the benefits of the mind-body-soul connection while improving flexibility, balance and core strength. You will be guided through the Sun Salutation to warm-up and prepare your body to flow through a series of asanas (postures). This class is suitable for all fitness levels.
Beginning Ballet/Dance - Learn ballet techniques! A fun introduction to dance and ballet. This class emphasizes strength, alignment, and joint flexibility to create a long and lean body. All levels of experience can be accommodated. Class attire- comfortable, non-restrictive clothing, ballet slippers preferred but if you do not own pair comes with socks or bare feet.
Hip Hop/Jazz/Funk- Learn this popular style of dance that introduces moves to the latest music. This class will take you through an easy fun approach to understanding rhythms and steps. Classes includes warm-up, stretching, and dance combinations. Incorporates elements of hip-hop such as popping, locking, and floor work. A high-energy class full of fun moves. No dance training necessary.
Cardio Power- An hour filled with high and low intensity activity designed to improve your cardiovascular endurance. Floor aerobics, sports agility drills, and strength training will challenge you. Class format will vary and may include all aerobic activity or intervals of power moves with strength training. All fitness levels.
Hi/Lo impact Aerobics- This 1-hour class is designed for the intermediate to high fitness level. It starts with a warm up then combines intermediate to high impact cardio moves that concludes with weights and floor work. This class provides an excellent workout for your cardio strength and endurance.
Muscle Conditioning-This is a 1 hour class designed to create strength and endurance through weight training. The class will work the entire body with hand weights, jump ropes, stability ball and floor work to strengthen your abdominals. Low cardio work at the beginning of class to warm up.
Strength & Conditioning- This is a 50-minute mid-day workout for all fitness levels. The class will include the use of cardio equipment, jump ropes, medicine balls, free weights and stretching in a structured environment. Build strength and cardio endurance with this R-MC favorite. Faculty/Staff only.
