Randolph-Macon’s Women’s Tennis Knocks of St. Mary’s 7-2
ASHLAND, VA –The Randolph-Macon College women’s tennis team improved to 2-0 on the young season with a 7-2 win over visiting St. Mary’s of Maryland on Saturday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets won five of the six single matches and two of the three doubles contests. Individually, Martha Vlahakis who defeated Michelle Compton 7-6, 6-4 in No. 2 singles competition, then teamed up with Whitney Robinson to top SMC’s Monica Powell and Erin Marzoli 8-4 in No. 2 doubles action.
Randolph-Macon will return to action next Sunday when it takes on Virginia Wesleyan College in Virginia Beach at 1:00 p.m.
