Phelps and Kirtley Send R-MC Women’s Soccer Past Mary Baldwin 8-0
ASHLAND, VA – Behind three goals and two assists from Lacy Phelps, the Randolph-Macon College women’s soccer team earned an 8-0 non-conference victory over Mary Baldwin College on Thursday afternoon in Ashland.
R-MC (4-5), which scored five goals in the first-half, got a pair of strikes and an assist in the match from Kendall Kirtley. Stephany Garcia, Elyse Cooper and Brittany Jones also added goals in the victory. Jones also notched a pair of assists as well.
R-MC out shot MBC 32-2 and held an 11-0 edge in corner kicks. Jackets keeper China Bradley played the entire 90 minutes, making one save to earn her first collegiate shut out. Amelia Smith and Nicole Croman split time in net and combined to make 11 saves on the afternoon.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Saturday when it welcomes Hollins University to Ashland for a 3:00 p.m. ODAC match.
