Three R-MC Women’s Soccer Players Earn All-ODAC Honors
SALEM, VA – Randolph-Macon senior women’s soccer players Rachel Armstrong, Kendall Kirtley and Lacy Phelps have all earned All-ODAC honors as the league announced its yearly awards Wednesday afternoon. Armstrong was a second-team selection while Kirtley and Phelps were named to the honorable mention teams.
Armstrong (Frostburg, Md./Beal) earns her first all-league selection after starting all 18 matches this season for the Yellow Jackets at defense, helping R-MC to seven shutouts on the season. She also added one goal on the season. Armstrong played in 62 career matches for R-MC. A mainstay on defense, Armstrong scored two goals and three assists for seven career points.
Kirtley (Ivy, VA/Western Albemarle) was named to the honorable mention squad after scoring eight goals and dishing out four assists for a total of 20 points which was second on the R-MC club. Kirtley appeared in 66 career matches as a member of the R-MC program. She scored 22 career goals and added 11 assists for a total of 55 career points.
Phelps (Baltimore, MD/Mercy) scored 12 goals and added seven assists for an R-MC team-best 32 points this season which also ranked fourth in the ODAC. Phelps appeared in 68 career matches for the Yellow Jackets. She accumulated 30 career goals and 19 career assists for a total of 79 career points.
Randolph-Macon went 9-9 on the 2007 season and advanced to the ODAC Quarterfinals.
