ASHLAND, VA – Jillian Boyd scored five goals and Ashley Sippel made 14 saves as Virginia Wesleyan scored a 14-11 ODAC victory over Randolph-Macon on Wednesday afternoon in Ashland.
The Marlins, who used a 5-1 run in the second half to propel them to victory, now stand at 10-3 overall and 6-0 in the league. The Yellow Jackets are now 4-9 overall and 4-3 in the ODAC.
Morgan Hutchinson led the way for R-MC with four goals on the afternoon. Erin Clare Cassidy struck for a pair of goals for the Jackets, while Lindsay Schabert made nine stops. Randolph-Macon outshot VWC 34-27 in the loss.
Kasey Marchwicki scored four goals for the Marlins, while Bethany Adomanis added two goals in the victory.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in Ashland against Hollins University.
