Five Yellow Jackets Hit Double-Digits in a 90-39 R-MC win over Randolph

ASHLAND, VA – Five Yellow Jackets scored in double-digits as Randolph-Macon College topped visiting Randolph College 90-39 Saturday afternoon in ODAC Women’s Basketball played in Ashland.
R-MC (19-3 / 14-3 ODAC) was paced by Amanda Hiltunen who had a game-high 21 points. Nicole Childress had 14 points, while Molly Ariail and Renee Stein came off the bench to score 13 and 12 points, respectively in the win. Jess Shifflett also chipped in with 11 points and dished out five assists on the afternoon. Marta Merkel grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds to help R-MC to a 52-39 advantage on the glass.
Randolph was led by Sam Schaffstall and Katie Rechnitzer who each had nine points in the loss. Lindsay Cross had eight points as well. R-MC held the WildCats to 20.3% shooting from the floor, only allowing Randolph to make 12-of-59 attempts on the afternoon.
Randolph-Macon will return to action Tuesday night when it travels to Eastern Mennonite University for a 7:00 p.m. ODAC game.
