ASHLAND, VA – Behind 17 points from Molly Ariail, the 20th ranked Randolph-Macon College women’s basketball team topped visiting Washington and Lee University 68-57 in ODAC action Tuesday night in Ashland.
R-MC (12-1 / 7-1 ODAC) also got 16 points from Amanda Hiltunen on 6-of-9 shooting, including three trifectas on the night. Lindsay Riesbeck added 11 points and five rebounds while Ariail snatched a game-high eight boards in the win. R-MC shot 38.1%, making 24-of-63 attempts and forced 24 General turnovers with five steals recorded by Ariail.
W&L (4-11 / 3-7 ODAC) got a game-high 18 points from Kristen Krouchick on 8-of-14 shooting. Amanda Kane had 14 points, while Bethany Ridenhour chipped in with 10 points of her own. Krouchick, Emily Wolff and Kaitlyn Kamp each had seven rebounds for the Generals, who won the battle on the boards 41-37.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Friday night when it hosts Roanoke College at 7:00 p.m. in ODAC action.
