CNU Stops Randolph-Macon Volleyball 3-1

NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Christopher Newport's volleyball team captured its first win of 2007 on Tuesday by defeating Randolph-Macon 3-1. The home standing Captains won by scores of 30-16, 28-30, 30-26 and 30-26.

April Hines paced the Yellow Jackets with 10 kills while Jill Kubichan added eight kills and 15 digs. Maggie Horn also had five kills and 14 digs while Savanna Love and Sheri Trentadue had 14 and 11 assists, respectively.

R-MC’s record drops to 1-1 with the loss and the Jackets return to action Wednesday night when it travels to near by Mary Washington University for a 7:00 p.m. match.

CNU was paced by Liz Bush's 14 kills. Sarah Coffey added 13 kills and 14 digs while Ellen Koch contributed 11 kills. Brittany Collins finished with 44 assists and 16 digs and Christie Kirby had 15 digs.
