Six Yellow Jackets Earn All-ODAC Swimming Accolades
ASHLAND, VA – Six members of the Randolph-Macon College swimming team have earn All Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) honors as the league announced it yearly awards on Tuesday afternoon.
Headlining the Yellow Jackets accolades were freshman Meredith Bagenstose, junior Shafer Busch and sophomore Marlene Graf who all earned all league laurels in three different events.
Graf’s (Wilton, CT / Wilton) times qualified her for All-ODAC honors in the 200, 500, and 1650 free style, while Bagenstose (Midlothian, VA / Midlothian High) earned honors in the 500 free, 400 IM and 200 fly. Busch’s (Virginia Beach, VA/ Princess Anne) times in the 50free, 100 fly, 100 free style earned her all-league honors.
Joining the trio on the All-ODAC squad is freshman Corinne Campbell (Baltimore, MD / Loch Raven) (100 fly, 200 fly), senior Maureen McLaughlin (Bell Air, MD / C. Milton Wright) (200 IM) and senior Randi Smith (Roanoke, VA/ William Fleming) (100 breast).
R-MC swimming captured second-place at the ODAC Championship meet and posted an 8-3 dual meet record in 2007-08 under first-year head coach Ben Delia.
