R-MC’s Sam Varner Named ODAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week

SALEM, VA – R-MC‘s Sam Varner has been named the ODAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week as the league announced its weekly awards on Monday.

The Randolph-Macon College men’s tennis team earned an ODAC victory on Sunday, topping league rival Virginia Wesleyan 5-4 in Virginia Beach.

R-MC was led by Varner in the win over the Marlins. Varner won his No. 4 singles match and was also victorious with Leigh Thompson Hanes in No. 1 doubles, winning 8-3.

The Yellow Jackets will return to action on Monday when it will welcome Bridgewater College for a 3:00 p.m. ODAC match.
