Parham’s Double Sends R-MC past Emory & Henry 3-0 in ODAC Men’s Soccer Action
(Box Score)
ASHLAND, VA – Andrew Parham notched a pair of goals as he led the Randolph-Macon men’s soccer team to a 3-0 ODAC victory over Emory & Henry College in Ashland on Saturday afternoon.
Parham got R-MC (4-8-1 / 3-3-1 ODAC) on the board just under 17 minutes into the contest when he used a left footed shot from about 35 yards out that hit the cross bar and fell behind Wasp keeper Daniel Mills to make the score 1-0.
The Jackets doubled their advantage in the 52nd minute when a corner kick by Ethan Cornelio found the head of Parham who sent ball past Mills.
Kevan Quinn sealed the scoring for R-MC six minutes later when he used a header off a crossing pass from Tyler Cornelio to make the score 3-0 in favor for the Jackets.
Matty Rocawhich made five shutouts to secure the shutout, while Mills made nine saves in a losing effort for E&H (4-9-1 / 0-7-0 ODAC). R-MC outshot the Wasps 25-9 and held a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
Randolph-Macon will return to action on Wednesday when it travels to Virginia Wesleyan for a 7:00 p.m. ODAC match.
