Yellow Jackets Fall to Wesley 4-0 in Randolph-Macon /Select Classic

ASHLAND, VA – The Randolph-Macon men’s soccer team allowed three goals in the first thirty-six minutes of play, paving the way for a 4-0 loss to Wesley College on Sunday afternoon in the final game of the 2008 R-MC/Select Classic.
Wesley took a 1-0 lead after R-MC allowed an own-goal in the nineteenth minute of the first half. The Wolverines added goals in the twenty-first and thirty-sixth minutes to earn a three-goal advantage at halftime.
Both teams failed to find the net in the first thirty-eight minutes of the second half. However, Wesley added a tally with 6:17 remaining in the contest to seal the victory.
R-MC keeper Jason DePre recorded four saves in the loss.
With the victory, Wesley won the Randolph-Macon / Select Tournament championship. Wolverine goalkeeper Nick Talarico earned the Most Outstanding Player award for the four-team tournament. R-MC freshman Mike Urbanik was selected to the All-Tournament team. All eleven selections are listed below:
