R-MC Splits a Pair at Virginia Wesleyan Tournament
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA- The Randolph-Macon College Men’s Soccer team split a pair of games over the weekend at the Virginia Wesleyan Blue Marlin Classic, knocking off Wesley 1-0 on Saturday and falling to Catholic 3-2 on Sunday.
In 1-0 win on Saturday, Chris Williams scored the lone goal of the match in the 59th minute off play off a feed from Rick Hebert. Jason DePre made five saves in net to pick up the shut out. Wesley out shot R-MC 12-8 and held a 3-1 lead in corner kicks.
On Sunday, Catholic took a 1-0 advantage just under 20 minutes into the match. The score remained that way until the 50th minute when Drew Wyatt scored off a corner kick to even the match.
CUA then scored at 60:59 and exactly 20 minutes following that to take a 3-1 advantage. David Krukiel cut the Cardinal lead to 3-2 with 7:30 left in the match but the Jackets would get no closer as CUA held on for the win.
